Zembla Care: alles wat men je niet vertelt

Update 22-12-2015 .... het begin is er!
http://gezondheid.eenvandaag.nl/index.php/tv-items/64023/mogelijk_compensatie_voor_slachtoffers_griepvaccin

Of zó gemeen?

Of gaat 'men' dan alleen zoals nu verbaasd kijken?

Nanu, nanu, Robin Williams

This is a man who, as far as I'm concerned, could have gone on living for ever and ever; his brilliant gags and the enormous capacity of putting himself in someone else's place, in roles as well as in daily life, as far as I've understood.
I have a splendid collection shows and of his standup comedian videos.*

Being fed up with life doesn't mean someone is unhappy.
I am fed up with life often enough. I am not unhappy but often I don't see why I should live for a long time to come.
[I used to think that the worst thing in life would be ending up alone.
That's not so, it's worse to end up with someone that makes you feel lonesome
Sometimes I think that 62 years of intensive living is quite long. Robin was 63.
That's why I think that a man like Robin Williams with his even more intensive way of living has every right to say: "This far, no further", for whatever reason.

Suicide fits somehow in the lives of hyperactive, high IQ-ed, people with a fantastic sense of special sense of humor (so does an addiction by the way).
I just can't imagine such a lively person waiting another 20 years or so for the end to come**

I just wanted to say that he was an allround mensch:

More than that...he was still amazingly allround 20 years later

Truely allround:  Clip for Amnesty

10 questions..... See if you can do something with the answers.
10 Questions for Robin Williams:

And my favorite: 1.5 hrs of the splendid and late Mr. Robin Williams. Enjoy!!!

'You kill or you tie': Robin on addiction and discipline:

Amazing Robin:

Robin Williams was a person of whom I think that he's been here before and will be back one day.***

*{Dit is nou zo'n man die wat mij betreft eeuwig had mogen leven, met zijn briljante kwinkslagen en enorme mogelijkheid om zich in anderen te verplaatsen, zowel in de rollen als ook in het dagelijks leven, heb ik begrepen. Ik heb een prachtige collectie stand-up comedian filmpjes.}
** {Genoeg hebben van het leven zegt mij niet dat iemand ongelukkig was. Ik heb zo vaak genoeg van dit alles, ik ben niet ongelukkig maar ik heb vaak niet de noodzaak om nog erg lang te leven. Soms denk ik dat 62 jaar intensief al veel is. Daarom denk ik dat een man als Robin Williams met een nog intenser leven het goed recht heeft om te zeggen: "Tot hier en niet verder" om welke reden dan ook.}
 ***{Robin Williams was zo iemand waarvan ik denk dat hij hier al eerder was en ook wel weer terugkomt.}

Nanu Nanu Robin Williams!

Healthy spices

Experimenting with spices and herbs in the preparation of food is a tasteful hobby, allthough sometimes the tastes are not always exactly what you expected.
I love the old arabic spices (especias Morunos) I learned to cook with in the south of Spain: cinnamon, cloves, all kinds of peper, cummin and coriander, curcumin and ginger and

Some of them are really good for you, I guess that is why they are being promoted so much.

Just a couple of them in the text below:

1. Cinnamon

Not only can cinnamon temporarily raise your metabolism but it also has an impact on insulin sensitivity. This can improve the way your body uses glucose and can make fat cells more responsive which helps stabilize blood sugar.

2. Cayenne Pepper

Spicy peppers, such as cayenne pepper, increase metabolism by causing body temperature to rise. This burns calories as the body cools your temperature back down. As an added bonus, the same substance that gives cayenne pepper its heat, capsaicin, may also aid in digestion and help to ease pain.

3. Ginger

Along with boosting metabolism, ginger is also thought to help enhance satiety and reduce hunger. This makes it an ideal spice for those trying to lose weight! Ginger is also known for its ability to help ease an upset stomach.

4. Mustard

Like hot peppers, mustard increases your metabolism by raising your body temperature. Spicy or hot mustard will be more effect than regular yellow mustard. Add some to your next sandwich to give it a tasty kick and burn more calories at the same time!

5. Tumeric

Tumeric increases metabolism and also aids in digestion. A substance in tumeric called curcumin is thought to help break down fats in the body and help prevent weight gain.

Just so you know...... stay happy, stay healthy and sing or dance!
Tweeted suggestion: Cinnamon Girl;-)

W.W.W. is Wild West World

.

My grandchild is crazy about 'performing' on Skype, we have a daily chat with the cam on, she shows me what she eats and the new words she has learned. Although I live quite near, she has gotten used to seeing my image on the computer; she treats me as if I were really there. I should be pleased and I am.

But then, the other day I saw a tweet passing from a worried mother, her daughter (13 yrs if I remember well) was subscribed to a Facebook page of a boy that only has girls as followers. Should that worry her? Yes, I guess it should, young girls are very vulnerable, especially when it comes to attention of boys. Loverboys find their way into girls lives though these Internet sites. Paedophiles do the same. And a nice image of someone on Facebook or twitter doesn't mean that the person is who he pretends to be. It is dangerous.

And so I realise that my granddaughter is being brought up with talking through Internet connections, it is like a normal visit without touch. She visits her granddad in Spain and her uncle in Rotterdam; it is as easy as that. She is not even 1, 5 years old and the World Wide Web is open to her.

Apart from the simple way to connect to other people the Internet has other disadvantages for young children. The information we get is not always (hardly ever) adapted to their age and comprehension.

Some 10 years ago I was living in a small village in Spain. The children used their dad's computer to download and watch whatever they wanted.
On my son's 13th birthday one of them brought a film to watch.  After watching the first five minutes of the film I left them with the usual Cola and Chips and went into the garden. It was an action film, which I don't really approve of, but my son liked it.
I got worried when the shooting noises stopped and the boys seemed to quiet.
When I peeked in, I saw a woman showing her vagina with a bottle in it.
I turned of the television and asked the boy where he got the film from. It seemed that there was a left-over of his dad's porn film on the tape.
But he knew and that was the reason he had brought it.
We talked for a while about the images and I told them they were faked and that the women on those films were often forced

The village boys seemed very surprised; their ideas of sex were these. So I talked to the parents, the mothers were mostly just as surprised as I was, but some of the fathers laughed. So I told them that letting your children watch these images, might be the cause of ill treatment of women later in life. That children should have a different kind of sexual education.

Nowadays it's quite normal to see sex advertisements on TV and getting al kinds of sex offers on your PC; even on Twitter it seems to be common. Children might get used to that and think it's normal. But it's not!

My advice; Keep your files away from your (grand)children, put a filter on your Internet (parental control), keep an eye on their Facebook and other Internet sites and talk to them about the dangers.
Keep them young and happy, teach them to read books and play with Lego, they will develop skills they might need when growing up in this weird adult world.

And if you find me ridiculously old-fashioned, don't say I didn't warn you when they get into trouble because you, as their guardians, didn't take care.
